Problem

Cayuse had a cross-platform Tasks product with basic barebones functionality. The Tasks feature also did not function properly between different products. Lack of features and a bad user experience across products led to low usage of Tasks.

Goal

We believed we could increase the usage of Tasks across the platform by adding key features, working with different product teams to design features at the same time, and making sure components functioned properly across the platform.

Defining our project with key customer stakeholder’s needs

Stakeholder input

Customer invested extra to start project
Key stakeholder input was important
Project needed to be usable by ALL users

Stakeholder + All users

Interviewed other users
Cross-referenced needs
Find common ground

Prioritizing work across different product teams

Team synchronization

Teams were “siloed”
Different functionality between products
More communication needed

Communication

Shared work plan documents
More meetings!
Working ideation sessions
Everyone on the same page!

Ideation and iteration

Dual design

Designing 10+ features at the same time
Feature impacting other features
Hard deadlines + congruent work

Collaboration celebration

“Divide and Conquer”
